A Weekend in Palm Springs

First stop of our western USA road trip: Palm Springs – a desert resort city within the Coachella Valley, California

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

My flight from New York to Palm Springs was around 9 hours, including stopovers. Arriving at the Palm Springs Int’l Airport is a lovely way to start your vacation. With its open-air concourse, cute shops, easy-to-navigate size, and scenic views, Palm Springs Airport is now my favorite airport!

I stayed in my uncle’s vacation house and I woke up to the relaxing view of Mt. San Jacinto.

In Downtown Palm Springs, you’ll see restaurants of different cuisines, unique shops, and people enjoying the city’s very relaxing vibe.

11707629_10206877439712508_3648647745706242536_nThere is so much history in this place – before it became a hide out of Hollywood stars back in the 20s and 30s, Palm Springs was first inhabited by the native Agua Caliente Cahuilla Indians.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThrough one of the world’s steepest vertical cable rise, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway ride will take 8 minutes of your time to bring you up from the desert floor to the Mountain Station, located at the 8,516-foot level of Mt San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness. Isn’t that exciting?

At the Mountain Station, you’ll find a cocktail lounge, dining facilities, gift shop and observation decks.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The Dole Whip is a pineapple-flavored soft-serve frozen dessert that is a very rare find outside of Disneyland and the Hawaii Dole Plantation. And you can now get it at Palm Springs Lappert’s Ice Cream!

Here’s a photo of me enjoying a cup of Dole Whip! It’s like a taste of Hawaii in the desert city Palm Springs!

From the wide variety of restaurants and shops to the mid-century architecture to its sunny vibe, Palm Springs is a place perfect for a weekend getaway.

Can’t wait to be back!
